Our Story

How it all Began

New Life Discovery was born with a simple but powerful truth. Individuals need more than a place to sleep. They need a plan, a path, and someone who will never give up on them.

After decades of combined experience in law enforcement, healthcare, and recovery, our founders saw individuals with complex needs shuffled between systems with no real stability.

Our vision was clear: create a care ecosystem that walks with people toward stability, wellness, and purpose.

“We didn’t want to build a traditional program.
We wanted to build something that actually helped people change their lives, even when it’s messy.”
— Tim Wetherald, Founder
Our Philosophy

Where Structure
Meets Compassion

At the core of everything we do is a belief that real transformation happens at the intersection of structure and compassion.

Structure gives safety, predictability, and accountability. Our daily routines and clear expectations create the stability individuals need to begin rebuilding their lives.

Compassion gives dignity and choice. We meet every person with empathy and grace, recognizing that progress is rarely linear.

Showing up matters more than perfection. Whether someone is navigating relapse, resistance, or chaos, we ask: What would it take for this person to succeed? Then we build that together.

We don’t just provide housing. We combine it with onsite medical support, peer mentorship, life coaching, and care coordination. It’s whole-person care under one roof.

Where do you operate right now?

We’re in Shasta and Humboldt counties, with expansion underway in Mendocino. Our flexible model enables us to adapt and grow with intention.
